The Hammer Circle Committee has been considering the pandemic now affecting the country, and in particular the actual/possible effects on our Annual Reunion.

 We have now agreed to postpone this year’s Reunion which will now take place in Hull on the 9th & 10th October 2021.  Although this may appear to be a very early decision, we are under contract with the Hallmark Hotel for a large number of meals in the Merlot Suite with substantial financial penalties for cancellation. Thankfully, Dave and Diane Smith have been able to persuade the Hotel to agree to our request without penalty or loss of deposit, without which our ability to support our event financially would have been reduced. How lucky we are to have Dave and Diane!

We hope, of course, that the national situation will improve as the weeks and months go by, and we will endeavour to organise a weekend of hammer competitions on the original dates of 10th & 11th October 2020. This would be not be a traditional Reunion but an opportunity to gather informally and provide some much-needed competition in 2020, as well as our customary companionship.

 Please therefore keep this year’s dates in your diary, and we will advise you as soon as we have been able to review our options for October 2020. And do please note next year’s Reunion dates, as we can’t wait to see you!
